The following procedure describes how to manually configure DEP on the computer:<\/p>\n

  1. Click Start<\/strong>, click Run<\/strong>, type sysdm.cpl, and then click OK<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  2. On the Advanced<\/strong> tab, under Performance<\/strong>, click Settings<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  3. On the Data Execution Prevention <\/strong>tab, use one of the following procedures:\n
      \n
    • Click Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
    • Click OK<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Workaround 3:[For Windows Vista or Windows 7 or Windows 8]<\/strong><\/p>\n

        Open System by clicking the Start<\/span><\/strong> button, right-clicking Computer<\/span>, and then clicking Properties<\/span><\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        Click Advanced system settings<\/span><\/strong>. \u00a0If you’re prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      3. \n

        Under Performance<\/span><\/strong>, click Settings<\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        Click the Data Execution Prevention<\/span><\/strong> tab, and then click\u00a0Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
