{"id":439,"date":"2012-08-25T11:58:18","date_gmt":"2012-08-25T11:58:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/techsupport.relyonsoft.in\/?p=439"},"modified":"2014-04-23T14:46:23","modified_gmt":"2014-04-23T14:46:23","slug":"error-1327-invalid-drive-f","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/relyonsoft.in\/techsupport\/error-1327-invalid-drive-f\/","title":{"rendered":"Error 1327: Invalid drive: F:\\"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Error:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Error 1327: Invalid drive: F:\\<\/p>\n<p><strong>Snapshot:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/techsupport.relyonsoft.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/InvalidDrive.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-676\" title=\"InvalidDrive\" src=\"http:\/\/techsupport.relyonsoft.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/InvalidDrive.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"302\" height=\"144\" srcset=\"https:\/\/relyonsoft.in\/techsupport\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/InvalidDrive.jpg 302w, https:\/\/relyonsoft.in\/techsupport\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/InvalidDrive-300x143.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 302px) 100vw, 302px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Causes:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><\/strong>This behavior may occur if a registry key contains an incorrect value in a Data field.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>At run time, the Windows Installer Service checks the registry location &#8220;HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Explorer\\User Shell Folders&#8221; to resolve folder paths of built-in System Folder properties, such as [WindowsVolume], [MyPicturesFolder], [SystemFolder], etc. If one of the folder paths in the above registry key points to a location or drive that does not exist on the machine, error 1327 occurs with the name of the folder specified in it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>If the INSTALLDIR or DATABASEDIR variables are hard coded to a path or drive letter that does not exist on the machine, this error may occur, e.g., &#8220;F:\\RelyonSoft\\SaralTDS&#8221; causes an error if F:\\ drive does not exist on the machine where the setup is being run.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Workaround 1:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1. Click &gt; Start &gt; Run &gt; type regedit.<\/p>\n<p>2. Locate the following registry key:<\/p>\n<p>HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Explorer\\Shell Folders<\/p>\n<p>3. In the right pane, look for any values that contain the drive letter specified in the error message. Right click on the value and select Modify.<\/p>\n<p>4. Change the erroneous drive letter to a valid drive letter. For example if the value is<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;F:\\Users\\Administrator\\AppData\\Roaming&#8221;, change it to &#8220;C:\\Users\\Administrator\\AppData\\Roaming&#8221; or whatever location is appropriate for your configuration.<\/p>\n<p>5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 for every incorrect value.<\/p>\n<p>6. Repeat steps 3 through 5 for the following registry keys:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Explorer\\User Shell Folders<\/li>\n<li>HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion<\/li>\n<li>HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Explorer\\Shell Folders<\/li>\n<li>KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Explorer\\User Shell Folders<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>7.
