Increase the size of the Log files.<\/li>\n<li>The SQL 2005 express edition does not support following processors AMD K6-2 processors, AMD Phenom 8400 Triple-Core processor, And Intel Xeon X5680.<\/li>\n<li>Required prerequisites for SQL Express 2005 may not be there in system.<\/li>\n<li>Antivirus on the system might be blocking the installation.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Don\u2019t click on cancel, let that error message be on screen, and Follow the workarounds\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Workaround 1<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Let the error message be on the screen, Transfer [SqlOS.dll and SqlServr.exe of SqlFix] to SQL installation path [C:\\Program Files\\Microsoft SQL Server\\MSSQL.1\\MSSQL\\Binn] and click Retry.<\/p>\n<p>Download: <a title=\"Sql Installation 29503 Error\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dropbox.com\/s\/4w8sskqh219v555\/SqlFix3.zip?dl=0\" target=\"_blank\">SqlFix<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Workaround 2:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Make sure that you are currently logged in to system as Administrator account.<\/li>\n<li>Before installation of SQL Server pause or disable the antivirus<\/li>\n<li>Switch OFF the &#8220;Firewall&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Click Start | Run | type firewall.cpl | Switch Off | Click OK.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Make sure that you are running the SQL Server setup as \u201cRun as Administrator\u201d. (If applicable)<\/li>\n<li>During SQL Server installation choose &#8220;<strong>Local System<\/strong>&#8221; for Service account.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Workaround 3: [For Windows XP]<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Give &#8220;EVERYONE&#8221; full control permissions to &#8220;Protect&#8221; folder<\/p>\n<p>Select Show hidden files and folders<\/p>\n<p>Navigate to: &#8220;C:\\Documents and Settings\\NetworkService\\Application Data\\Microsoft&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>And Give &#8220;EVERYONE&#8221; full control permissions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Workaround 4:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t click on cancel, let that error message be on screen, try to rename &#8220;Microsoft&#8221; folder in the below path.<\/p>\n<p>Select Show hidden files and folders<\/p>\n<p>\u201cC:\\Documents and Settings\\NetworkService\\Application Data\\Microsoft\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Workaround 5:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Create an &#8220;empty&#8221; registry key name as &#8216;Domain&#8217;:<\/p>\n<p>Click Start | Run | type regedit | Click OK.<\/p>\n<p>Navigate to:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;HKLM\\SYSTEM\\CurrentControlSet\\Services\\Tcpip\\Parameter&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Right Click &#8220;Parameter&#8221; | New | String Value | rename as &#8220;Domain&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Workaround 6:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Increase the Event viewer log size to bigger value.<\/p>\n<p>Click Start | Run | type eventvwr.msc | Click OK.<\/p>\n<p>Right click Application &gt; Properties &gt; Change maximum log size to bigger value.<\/p>\n<p>And Check \u201cOverwrite events when needed\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Click Apply and OK.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Workaround 7:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Software requirements for SQL Server 2005 express sp2:<\/p>\n<p>Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0<\/p>\n<p>Windows Installer 3.1<\/p>\n<p>Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 2.8 SP1 or later.<\/p>\n<p>Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 SP1<\/p>\n<p><strong>Workaround 8:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The SQL 2005 family does not support following processors AMD K6-2 processors, AMD Phenom 8400 Triple-Core processor, And Intel Xeon X5680.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Error: The SQL Server service failed to start.
